David Roe was born in Derby, England. Roe played on professional snooker tour from 1986 until 2010. He reached a career-high as no. 13 in the World Rankings, and he is a four-time ranking tournament quarter-finalist. Following his demotion from the pro tour, he converted to Islam and moved to Iran where he became coach of the Iranian national team.
