Zhang Yong was born in China. He got his first pro tour card in 2015 and qualified for quite a few tournaments over the next two seasons, but he went out in the first round almost every time. He, therefore, lost the tour card again following the season 2016/17, but regained it after a good run at the Q School leading up to the season of 17/18.
